Begin your adventure with a private transfer from your hotel in Hurghada at 03:00 AM. Relax in the comfort of a private air-conditioned vehicle as you embark on a 6-hour drive to Cairo, arriving at around 09:30 AM.
Your first stop will be the Giza Pyramid Complex, home to Egypt’s most iconic monuments. The complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and includes the Great Pyramid of Giza, Pyramid of Khafre, Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx. The Great Pyramid is the largest of all pyramids, originally reaching 146 meters (481 feet) in height and built from over 2.3 million limestone blocks. It is the last remaining wonder of the ancient world. You’ll also visit the Valley Temple, where mummification rituals took place, and the Great Sphinx, a colossal limestone statue of a lion with the head of Pharaoh Khafre.
After exploring the pyramids, enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch at a restaurant with panoramic views of the Nile River and the pyramids.
Then, head to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities, which houses over 250,000 artifacts spanning 5,000 years of ancient Egyptian history. The museum’s highlights include the treasures of Tutankhamun, including his golden death mask, jewelry, and furnishings. You will also have the opportunity to explore the museum’s collection of royal mummies and other incredible artifacts.
After your tour, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Giza or Cairo , where you’ll spend the night. You can relax and reflect on the day’s experiences, or enjoy a relaxing evening at leisure.
On Day 2, after breakfast at your hotel, your private guide will take you to explore the historic heart of Cairo. First, you’ll visit the Citadel of Saladin, a medieval Islamic fortification that once housed Egypt’s rulers.
The Citadel offers spectacular views of Cairo and the Nile River. It was built in the 12th century by Salah ad-Din (Saladin) to protect Egypt from the Crusaders and served as the seat of government for several centuries.
Next, you’ll visit the Mohamed Ali Mosque, also known as the Alabaster Mosque. This magnificent mosque, built between 1830 and 1848, is a fine example of Ottoman architecture. Its white alabaster walls and large dome create an impressive visual impact, and it offers stunning panoramic views of the city. The mosque is modeled after the famous Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, and is one of Cairo’s most recognizable landmarks.
Afterward, explore the vibrant Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest and most famous markets in the Middle East. Wander through the narrow lanes filled with stalls selling traditional Egyptian crafts, spices, perfumes, jewelry, and souvenirs. Take in the rich smells, sounds, and colors of this historic market, which dates back to the 14th century.
For lunch, enjoy a delicious local meal at a traditional restaurant, and after your shopping experience, return to your hotel in Cairo for another overnight stay.
After breakfast at your hotel, start your final day of exploration with a visit to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt. Memphis was founded around 3100 BC and became the center of the early Dynastic period.
It was the seat of power for Egypt’s first kings and a key location for controlling Upper and Lower Egypt. Visit the open-air museum to see the colossal statues of Ramses II and other ancient artifacts.
Next, head to Sakkara, the site of the Step Pyramid of Djoser, one of the world’s oldest stone structures. Built in the 3rd Dynasty by King Djoser, this pyramid was the first to feature large-scale cut stone and represents a major advancement in Egyptian architecture. The Step Pyramid is the precursor to the smooth-sided pyramids found at Giza, marking an important step in the evolution of pyramid construction.
From Sakkara, continue to Dahshur, a pyramid field located 40 kilometers south of Giza. Here you’ll find the Bent Pyramid, known for its unique shape, and the Red Pyramid, one of Egypt’s best-preserved early pyramids. These structures, built by King Sneferu during the 4th Dynasty, are key examples of the architectural development that led to the construction of the more famous pyramids at Giza.
After exploring these fascinating sites, enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, your guide will drive you back to Hurghada, where you will arrive in the evening, completing your memorable 3-day journey through Egypt’s most iconic historical landmarks.
