Your 3-day desert adventure begins with an early pick-up at 6:00 AM from your hotel in Cairo or Giza. The Western Desert is about 350 km away, taking approximately 4 hours by road. Along the way, you’ll stop twice for refreshing coffee breaks, offering a chance to stretch your legs and enjoy the ever-changing desert landscape. As you drive deeper into the desert, the vastness and solitude of this iconic desert environment become more apparent.
By 10:00 AM, you’ll reach Bahariya Oasis, an important stop in Egypt’s desert regions. After meeting your expert safari guide, you’ll board a 4×4 Jeep for your desert exploration. The journey begins with a visit to the Black Desert, a unique landscape of dark volcanic peaks and black sand dunes. The striking contrast between the dark volcanic formations and golden sands makes this a prime spot for photography and a dramatic introduction to Egypt’s desert landscapes.
Around 12:00 PM, you’ll make your way to El Haize Oasis, a tranquil haven surrounded by palm trees and greenery. Here, you’ll enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch, featuring local dishes like koshari (a lentil-based dish), falafel (crispy chickpea patties), and grilled meats. After the meal, relax and take in the peaceful atmosphere of the oasis.
In the afternoon, head to the Valley of Agabat in the White Desert. The valley’s surreal limestone and chalk formations were once submerged beneath the sea, and over millions of years, erosion has sculpted the land into mushroom-shaped rocks and dramatic spires. This location is a natural wonder, perfect for exploring, photography, and appreciating the geological beauty of Egypt’s desert environment.
After the Valley of Agabat, head toward the White Desert (also called the White Desert of Egypt), one of the most iconic desert landscapes. The sculpted limestone rock formations here are truly otherworldly, creating a surreal atmosphere. The chalky white sand and formations, resembling animals or mushrooms, make this area a photographer’s paradise.
As the sun begins to set, your guide will set up camp for the night in the White Desert. The sunset over the desert creates breathtaking views as the sky fills with vibrant shades of orange, pink, and purple. Following the sunset, enjoy a traditional Bedouin-style dinner, including roasted chicken, rice, and vegetables cooked over an open flame. After dinner, settle around the campfire and indulge in stargazing. With little light pollution, the clear desert skies offer spectacular views of the Milky Way and countless stars, creating a magical experience.
