Explore the East Bank Of Luxor

Your trip begins with a pick-up at 5:00 AM from your hotel in Soma Bay. You’ll then enjoy a private transfer in a comfortable A.C. car, traveling along the scenic Safaga Road, which takes approximately 3.5 hours to reach Luxor. Along the way, you’ll stop for a short break to enjoy a coffee and have breakfast before continuing your journey directly to Luxor. Upon arrival, your personal tour guide will meet you, and you’ll begin your exploration of the East Bank.

First, you’ll visit the breathtaking Karnak Temple, one of the largest and most impressive temple complexes in the world. Spanning 247 acres, Karnak is a vast collection of structures, including pylons, obelisks, and chapels, built over 2,000 years by various Pharaohs. As you explore, you will learn about the religious significance of this site, particularly in relation to the Opet Festival, a major event in Ancient Egypt that celebrated the Pharaoh’s divine nature.

Next, you’ll visit the nearby Luxor Temple, built primarily by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. This sacred temple, located on the east bank of the Nile River, was central to the Opet Festival, which aimed to reconcile the human and divine aspects of the Pharaoh. As you walk through the majestic halls and past towering statues of the Pharaohs, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of the powerful role religion played in the ancient world.

After exploring these historical sites, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in Luxor at a local restaurant, where you can try authentic Egyptian

dishes.

In the evening, you have the option to attend the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple. This spectacular show narrates the history of Thebes and the Karnak Temple, shedding light on the grandeur of the ancient city and the achievements of the famous Pharaohs. With dramatic lighting and poetic narration, the show transports you back in time to the reigns of the great Egyptian rulers.

You’ll then spend the night in Luxor, where you can relax and reflect on your day’s journey through history.

Explore the West bank of Luxor

After a restful night, you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel before embarking on the second day of your exploration.

Your private guide will take you to the Valley of the Kings, the final resting place of many Pharaohs, including Ramses II and the boy king Tutankhamun. The valley is home to richly decorated tombs, where the tombs of the Pharaohs were filled with treasures and everything they would need for the afterlife. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the tomb of Tutankhamun, which was discovered in 1922 and is famous for its gold treasures, including the iconic golden mask.

Next, you will visit the Hatshepsut Temple, one of the most beautifully preserved temples of Ancient Egypt. Built in honor of Queen Hatshepsut, the only female Pharaoh, this impressive structure is carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. The temple’s unique architectural design, with its wide terraces and symmetrical ramps, is a marvel of ancient engineering. As you walk through the temple, you will learn about Hatshepsut’s reign and the grandeur of her temple, which was dedicated to the god Amun.

Afterward, you’ll visit the Colossi of Memnon, two enormous statues made from quartzite sandstone, which once guarded the entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. These towering statues stand as silent witnesses to the ancient past and are among the most photographed sites in Egypt.

For lunch, enjoy another delicious meal in Luxor, where you’ll have the chance to sample more Egyptian cuisine before continuing your exploration.

Finally, after a memorable day of discovering the rich history of Luxor, you will be driven back to your hotel in Soma Bay, concluding your private two-day exploration of Luxor’s cultural heritage and historical landmarks.
