2 Days Trip to Luxor from Port Ghalib by Private Car

Day 1 / Port Ghalib to Luxor & Explore the East Bank Of Luxor

Your adventure begins with an early pick-up at 4:00 AM from your hotel in Port Ghalib. You’ll enjoy a private transfer in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle, traveling along the scenic Safaga Road for approximately 3.5 hours to reach Luxor. On the way, you’ll stop for a brief break to enjoy a coffee and a light breakfast, giving you the opportunity to relax and prepare for the exciting day ahead.

Upon arrival in Luxor, your private tour guide will meet you, and your exploration of this ancient city’s rich history will begin.

First, you will visit the magnificent Karnak Temple, one of the largest and most awe-inspiring temple complexes in the world. Covering 247 acres, Karnak is an extraordinary collection of pylons, obelisks, chapels, and sanctuaries, built over 2,000 years by different Pharaohs. As you explore this vast site, your guide will share the religious and historical significance of Karnak, particularly its connection to the Opet Festival, an important event in ancient Egypt that celebrated the Pharaoh’s divine nature.

Next, you will head to the nearby Luxor Temple, which was primarily built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II. Located on the east bank of the Nile, this sacred temple was central to the Opet Festival, symbolizing the union of the human and divine aspects of the Pharaoh. As you walk through the temple, past towering statues of the Pharaohs, you’ll gain deeper insight into the political and religious roles of the ancient Egyptian rulers.

After exploring these iconic sites, you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in a local restaurant in Luxor, where you can try traditional Egyptian dishes such as koshari, falafel, and molokhia.

In the evening, you have the option to attend the Sound and Light Show at Karnak Temple. This spectacular show brings to life the history of Thebes and the grandeur of Karnak, with dramatic lighting and evocative narration that takes you back in time to the reigns of Egypt’s great Pharaohs.

You’ll then spend the night in Luxor, where you can unwind and reflect on your day of exploration.

Day 2 / Explore the East Bank Of Luxor & Return to Port Ghalib

After a restful night and a hearty breakfast at your hotel, you’ll embark on the second day of your Luxor adventure, exploring the West Bank. Your private guide will escort you to the Valley of the Kings, the burial site of many famous Pharaohs, including Ramses II and the boy king Tutankhamun.

This UNESCO World Heritage site is home to elaborately decorated tombs filled with treasures that Pharaohs would need for the afterlife. You will have the opportunity to visit the tomb of Tutankhamun, discovered in 1922, which contains the famous golden death mask and other remarkable treasures.

Next, you will visit the incredible Hatshepsut Temple, one of the best-preserved temples of Ancient Egypt. This stunning structure is carved into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari and was dedicated to Queen Hatshepsut, the only female Pharaoh of Egypt. The temple’s unique design, with its wide terraces and symmetrical ramps, showcases ancient Egyptian engineering and the grandeur of Hatshepsut’s reign.

Following the temple, you’ll visit the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues made from quartzite sandstone that once guarded the entrance to the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. These towering statues are iconic landmarks and are among the most photographed sites in Luxor.

For lunch, enjoy another delightful meal in Luxor, where you’ll get to savor more authentic Egyptian cuisine before continuing your exploration.

In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to relax or enjoy the serene beauty of Luxor before your private driver takes you back to Port Ghalib. This concludes your two-day journey, filled with rich cultural and historical experiences that will leave you with unforgettable memories of Egypt’s ancient treasures.
